The 8th Day Center for Justice collected a number of print materials, including magazines, as part of their research on social justice issues of interest to them. Specifically, 8th Day had a special concern for the refugee crises in the last quarter of the twentieth century. The organization collected the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) annual publication Refugees. The magazine reports statistics and publishes stories on individual refugee and migrant stories. Though published by a secular institution, 8th Day used the material to create awareness of the lingering refugee crises around the world.
